"Crowns have long been symbols of authority, wisdom, and spiritual elevation. In many cultures, a crown represents not just a position of power but also recognition, achievement, and connection to something higher. It signifies that you have earned your place, your respect, your right to exist confidently in the world. But for many Black individuals, the act of wearing this crown—of holding their heads high and standing tall—is often met with resistance. In a world shaped by racial bias, trust is not given freely but must be earned. And even when Black people earn that trust, the act of asserting themselves can be misunderstood. When they carry themselves with poise and confidence, they are too often labeled as 'arrogant' or 'uppity.' Their composure is seen as a challenge to the status quo, as if their worth and accomplishments must still be questioned."
